It’s Saturday morning and I’m having the best breakfast up in the mountain facing Bahia Ballena.
It’s a cloudy rainy day, perfect for sharing coffee next to my husband and telling you all about this magical place.
We arrived yesterday at 12:30pm after a smooth drive form San Jose. It took us 3 hours with no traffic and a perfect road. Alejandra welcomed us with a beautiful smile and the most delicious pineapple coconut smoothie. My first thought when I saw Alejandra was: is this place design after her look? She is the perfect example of a beautiful Costa Rican girl.
We headed straight to lunch, which was a delight as well. I had a ceviche made of shrimp and corvina with shreded crispy potatoes on top, to die for. My husband had the Ceviche Fresco with fine red onions, yellow aji peppers and feshly squeezed lime seating on top of yuca croquette, just perfect. As a main dish he had the Crispy Panko Yellowfin Tuna, he loved it.
Then it was time to come see the room…. Oh my! Beautiful, modern, open windows huge terrace…. Perfect taste. All design by Martin Wells.
We spent the afternoon enjoying the rain, reading, seeing the Tucanes fly by.
Time for drinks and dinner. Delicious again…amazing fish carpaccio followed by fresh Robalo for me and tuna again for my hubbie on top of extravagant sauted vegetables, some grown right in the property. To round up my day and celebrate the 3-1 Costa Rica win over USA soccer match, we had a Chocolate Tortino… Mmmmmm.
Ok so 2.000 calories later I’m heading back to my room. With not enough walking to digest dinner, I stayed up reading for a while enjoying the quietness of the area….until this morning.
I’ll tell you later about today. I’m heading to the beach….
