2015 has arrived and with it I promise exciting new posts.
I´m gonna share with you a pending post which I really wanted to publish.
You know when you are driving and feeling hungry or the need to use a bathroom you wonder whats the best place to stop, well, this is one good place to choose from. If you are traveling south of Río Tárcoles, this is a perfect spot to grab a fresh costarican meal. El Maná is located in Orotina, about 45 min from San Jose. It´s on you way if you are going to Jaco, Los Suenos, Manuel Antonio, Dominical or anywhere south from Orotina. El Mana serves the best tortilla de queso that I’ve tried in a long time. I took a quick look at the kitchen where the owner cooks about 8 tortillas at the same time. Both the kitchen and restaurant are impecable. After waiting about 10 minutes we get the yummy tortilla, warm, thick and cheese. It is served with natilla, a costarican sour-cream that’s also served with the famous gallo pinto.
A good tortilla must be accompanied by a costarican coffee, here they brew it in the traditional costarican way, with a “chorreador”.
They also have a few souvenirs for sale, home made honey, and free WiFi in case you need it!
Quick tip: call ahead of time if you want some tortillas to go!
